Chad has provided executive leadership at Open Door since 2007. His primary responsibilities include administrative oversight and development. He is passionate and experienced in developing community-based solutions to poverty and homelessness. He holds a BA in Biblical Text from Lubbock Christian University. He serves on the Texas Balance of State Continuum of Care board and the Community Development and Services board for the City of Lubbock.
Andrea joined the team in October 2018. She is responsible for overseeing all internal operations of Open Door. She has a wealth of ministry and nonprofit experience having served in variety of contexts both in the U.S. and abroad. Andrea has a M.Div. from Luther Rice Bible University & Seminary, a MPH from Rollins School of Public Health, and a BA in Communications from The University of Michigan.
Chase joined the team in July 2014. As a college student he began attending Open Door in 2012. He oversees the activities of the Community Center, where he offers a wide range of support and assistance to our community. Chase is supported as a missionary by South Plains Church of Christ. He holds a BA in Missions and is completing his master’s degree in Counseling from Lubbock Christian University.
Katherine joined the Open Door team in 2017. She is responsible for overseeing Open Door Housing, including outreach, program implementation and adherence, case management, and staff development. Katherine has eight years of experience working with vulnerable people through hospice and palliative care in addition to working with organizations focused on homelessness. She is a licensed master social worker with a Master of Science in Social Work from University of Kansas.
Jaime has been a part of the Open Door community since 2006 and became a staff member in 2011. She plays a variety of roles at Open Door, offering support for people in both the Community Center and Housing with a focus on empowering women and human trafficking victims. She is an LMSW graduate of Lubbock Christian University.
Heavy has been a member of Open Door since 1998. He grew up on the east side of Lubbock and knows the culture and life of our community well. Heavy is a man of peace and is a beloved mentor to many in our community. He has been serving as the Community Center Manager since 2011.
Jocelyn first came to Open Door in 2013 as a church member and joined the team in 2014. She has worked in development and fundraising for over 10 years at nonprofits throughout Texas and Ohio. Her primary responsibilities at Open Door include fundraising and event planning. She is also a theater director and teacher with degrees from Abilene Christian University and Ohio University.
Brandi joined the team in March 2018. Her primary responsibilities at Open Door include fundraising and event planning. Brandi has over a decade of experience broadcast media. She holds a degree in Mass Communications from Texas Tech University.
Laura joined the Open Door team in June 2017. Originally from Lubbock, Laura has worked at nonprofits in Arizona and Lubbock. She is the hub of communication for Open Door and provides administrative support to the entire team. Laura has a Psychology degree from Texas Tech University.
Andre joined the Open Door team in 2017 after serving as a volunteer in the Community Center. He grew up in Lubbock and has experience with many of the issues faced by the community he serves. He is blessed to have experienced God’s transformative power and loves being able to share that with people at Open Door.
Cory has been a member of the Open Door community since 2017. He joined the Open Door team in January 2018 and is responsible for maintaining all Open Door properties as well as assisting with other physical projects. Cory is a graduate of the Adventures in Missions program.
Brent joined the Open Door team in June 2018. He is responsible for providing pastoral care and supportive services for people in the Open Door Community Center. Brent holds a Masters in Missional Leadership from Rochester College and a BS in Ministry and Bible from Amridge University.
Rudy joined the team in August 2018 after completing his Social Work practicum from Texas Tech University. He is responsible for providing case management to participants in Open Door Housing. He graduated with a BA in Social Work from TTU in 2018.
Paige joined the team in 2014 after serving as a missionary apprentice in the Adventures in Missions program in Guadalajara, Mexico. She is responsible for providing case management support for participants in Open Door Housing. She is completing a BA in Spanish at Texas Tech University.
Sergio joined the team in September 2017. His primary responsibilities include assisting with medical care and providing patient navigation services. Sergio is a National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (NREMT-P) who has worked both as a firefighter and a field EMT/paramedic since 2002. Sergio holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences with a concentration in EMS Management from Eastern New Mexico University and is currently enrolled in Covenant School of Nursing.
Benjie joined the team in September 2018. He provides a variety of assistance to the administrative team. Benjie is completing a MA in Sociology with a focus on Nonprofit Leadership from Arizona State University. He also holds a BA in Missiology from Lubbock Christian University.
