Community Center

Open Door Community Center is a place where everyone is welcome.

In light of COVID-19, we ask that only people experiencing active homelessness visit the Community Center. Upon arrival, visitors will be screened for fever and symptoms, given a mask to wear while inside, and will be asked to maintain proper social distancing as laid out by the Community Center team. Please note that wearing a mask is required when visiting Open Door. If you are sheltered, but in need of resources, please call our community center team at 806-687-6876 or send us an email to [email protected] to make an appointment. 

The Open Door Community Center offers a variety of resources for anyone in need such as:

  • Showers and restroom facilities
  • Mail and phone service
  • Lockers for personal items
  • Daily breakfast and coffee
  • Life skills classes
  • IDs and birth certificates

The following classes are offered periodically through the Community Center however, in light of COVID-19, classes are temporarily suspended.

  • Job Skills
  • Anger Management
  • Spiritual Wellness
  • Health and Wellness
  • Women’s Empowerment
  • Men’s Empowerment
  • Art
  • Cooking
  • Grief Counseling

Community Center staff are available daily to provide pastoral care, answer questions, and make referrals to community resources.

Spring Hours (Mar. - Nov.):

Sunday:        7:00 am - 12:00 pm (includes worship at 10:15 am)

Monday:        7:00 am - 2:00 pm

Tuesday:       7:00 am - 2:00 pm

Wednesday:  7:00 am - 4:00 pm (In light of COVID-19, community meals are temporarily suspended)

Thursday:     7:00 am - 2:00 pm

Friday:         7:00 am - 2:00 pm

Saturday:     Closed

On emergency weather days, the Community Center remains open until 5:00 pm and provides transportation to and from overnight shelter. Please contact the Community Center for more information.
