Volunteer Opportunities

1) Event Support

Help us run community events, outreach programs, and special initiatives.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Setting up and breaking down events

  • Greeting and assisting attendees

  • Supporting staff during activities

Time Commitment: Occasional, flexible

2) Program Support

Work directly alongside our team to support ongoing programs.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting participants

  • Helping with activities or logistics

  • Providing general support where needed

  • Cleaning around properties

Time Commitment: Weekly or recurring often

Requirements: Training program (3 weeks)

3) Administrative Support

Help behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Data entry or organization

  • Preparing materials

  • General office support

Requirements

To ensure the best experience for everyone, we ask volunteers to:

  • Be reliable and communicate clearly

  • Show respect and professionalism to all participants

  • Follow staff guidance and organizational policies

  • Complete any required orientation or training

Time Commitment

Typically our volunteer hours are Monday-Friday between 8 am - 2pm, with some exceptions for special events or opportunities.

We offer flexible opportunities to fit your schedule:

  • One-time volunteer opportunities

  • Short-term projects/Events

  • Ongoing weekly roles

You can choose what works best for you.

  • Fill out our volunteer interest form using the link below. Once submitted, our team will follow up with next steps.

  • No experience is required for most roles. We’ll provide any necessary guidance or training.

  • It depends on the role. Some opportunities are one-time, while others may require a weekly commitment. You can choose what fits your schedule.

What happens after I submit the form?

After submitting your interest form:

  1. Our team reviews your information

  2. We contact you with available opportunities and next steps

  3. You may be invited to an orientation, tour, or onboarding session

  • Yes! We welcome groups. Please contact us directly to coordinate group opportunities.

  • In many cases, yes. Please let us know your requirements when applying.

  • Some roles may be completed remotely, depending on current needs.

Open Door is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and gifts are tax-deductible to the extent of the law.
All donations are unrestricted unless otherwise noted. If restricted funds exceed the need, they may be used for another area of need.
