Donate Items

Open Door accepts numerous donated items that support the work of our Community Center and Supportive Housing. You can drop items off, purchase from our wishlists, schedule a pick-up, or host a drive. Annually, in-kind donations save Open Door $100,000 in additional expenses.

Wishlists

  • Open Door accepts practical household items that help participants set up and maintain their homes, including twin mattresses, twin bed frames, small furniture, kitchen items, cleaning supplies, bedding, towels, hygiene items, and Community Center supplies.

  • Yes. Because most of the people we serve live in smaller spaces, we can only accept items on our needs list. We may also decline items because of size, weight, or condition.

    Please donate items you would feel comfortable giving to a friend.

  • No. We partner with Broadway Church of Christ’s clothing closet.

Item Donation FAQ

  • Donations can be dropped off at Open Door’s Admin Office:

    Donations are usually accepted on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, but please call ahead at 806.687.6876 to make sure someone is available to meet you.

  • Yes. Pick-ups are available on Wednesday mornings.

  • Open Door asks for a suggested donation to help cover vehicle maintenance and fuel:

    $25: 1-2 items
    $40: 3-5 items
    $60: 6 or more items

Host a Drive

Host a branded barrel and collect linens, dishes, cookware, small appliances, and hygiene items!

  • Barrel pickups scheduled as needed, or you can drop them off

  • Keep the barrel for two weeks or more

  • We provide signage and digital flyers

  • We will present about Open Door to your group

Open Door is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and gifts are tax-deductible to the extent of the law.
All donations are unrestricted unless otherwise noted. If restricted funds exceed the need, they may be used for another area of need.
